My name is Skip. I’m a Northerner who was transplanted to central Arkansas. I’ve had a long and varied life, with some unique experiences. I’m still trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up, but I’m fairly sure that it will involve writing. While searching for other options, I’ve decided to start writing a blog. Hopefully it will be enjoyable, and with any luck, informative.

My Twitter profile gives this bio information:

Peripatetic sesquipedalian quester, curmudgeon, kvetch, iconoclast.

That’s as good a summary as any, and will serve as an introduction to the variety of subjects I’m likely to cover in this blog, although every once in a while there may be a surprise.

  1. I admire for your interest in Tigrigna proverbs. I am Haile Bokure. I compiled and published the proverbs and riddles of Tigrigna, Tigre, Shaho, Bilina, Kunama and Afer people of Eritrea. However this book is out of print now. But I have several Tigrigna books related to Eritrean history, culture, and stories related to Eritreans in the Diaspora. I have also some translated books such as Antigone, Aesop’s tales including the history of Keren School for the Deaf. If you are interested in them, please let me know.

    • Thank you for your kind words. Yes, I would especially like to buy a copy of your translation of Aesop’s Fables. Also, if your book of Proverbs should be reprinted, I would be very interested. In the meantime, I want to see if I can find a used copy to buy.
